Engineering services include all aspects of naval architecture and marine engineering. Our
vessel designs incorporate the many years of experience that various
individuals bring to the H/RI GROUP. Incorporating our unique blend of
naval architecture, design and engineering results in an unsurpassed total
package. We can also arrange for approval by any of the international
classification societies if required by the client. Comprehensive
design and engineering programs, including the use of specialized computer
systems, many of them developed in-house, allow The H/RI GROUP to analyze
requirements and design solutions that maximize performance and
efficiency. Taking
an integrated approach to complex vessel subsystems, including hydraulic
and electric, results in systems that are optimized for client
requirements and maintenance. You will not end up with an amalgamation of
easily assembled, off the shelf packages, many of which are not compatible
with one another. Thorough knowledge of vessel subsystems allows the H/RI
GROUP to integrate complex equipment such as weapons systems, specialized
survey equipment, sophisticated propulsion and control systems into the
vessel in an optimum fashion. Our
involvement with clients at the factory level leads to a complete
understanding of the locally available materials and methods prior to
finalizing certain design aspects. With this understanding it is possible
to optimize the design to use locally available resources. This is of
special interest to clients in countries that have currency restrictions. |

Propulsion engineering is often overlooked by many.
Optimizing the propulsor system is essential to generating maximum vessel efficiency.
Working with individualized computer profiles, H/RI GROUP engineers are able to pinpoint
the ideal configuration for a specific application, and in many cases, design entirely new
propellers for special purposes. Personnel with the H/RI GROUP have been working with Surface Piercing Propulsion
Systems since 1979. Very few organizations can claim more experience with the design and
application engineering of advanced surface-piercing propeller systems. We
have designed specialized products around customer’s requirements
including hydraulic systems, drivelines and propellers. In
this industry, horror stories abound on first sea trials.
However, it is not uncommon for projects where the H/RI GROUP has
been involved in all phases of operation to perform as specified from
launch. A good example of this is a patrol boat that was built in a Third
World country by a relatively inexperienced builder. With the help of
H/RI, the vessel, built using low-tech building methods, met and even
exceeded the top speed requirement of over 60 knots on its first run.
Subsequently, the H/RI GROUP assisted the customer in the design and
manufacturing of locally made propellers for further production, reducing
the cost of this component by over 65%. |

The
H/RI GROUP offers complete project management services.
Following a detailed analysis and evaluation of client
requirements, specific proposals and other support materials are generated
as required. The GROUP is
particularly skilled in conducting consultations and negotiations with end
users and/or governmental agencies in support of client programs client
resources. Highly qualified
support personnel are available for placement at client locations
worldwide to supply technical assistance, program supervision and/or
employee training. We
offer offshore procurement services for equipment and machinery to H/RI
GROUP clients. Our extensive
experience in the international market permits economical sourcing,
careful documentation and prompt shipment of client requirements. The
H/RI GROUP is able to assist domestic and overseas clients to evaluate
conditions and formulate individualized marketing programs that
effectively place the client in a strong, competitive advantage.
The
H/RI GROUP are specialists in creative problem-solving situations where
previous applications have not met performance expectations.
Systems are analyzed and often economically redesigned to eliminate
current problems and to avoid recurrence in the future.
Individualized maintenance programs and scheduling are developed to
achieve minimum downtime, even in rigorous operational conditions. Our
involvement with clients at the factory level allows us to develop a
complete understanding of the locally available materials and methods
prior to finalizing certain design aspects.
With this understanding it is possible to optimize the design to
use locally available resources. This
is of special interest to clients of many countries that have currency
restrictions. |
